This lecture by Anton Nordqvist introduces the concept of food forests (metsäpuutarha) as a core application of permaculture.
A food forest is designed to mimic natural ecosystems while producing food, using layered planting, biodiversity, and long-term ecological thinking. Instead of monocultures, it focuses on relationships between plants and the creation of resilient, self-sustaining systems.
